  Text Box: Our science and social studies test is this Wednesday. Please make sure that your child is prepared. Please be sure to have your child bring a water bottle to school every day. There are quite a few students forgetting lately. We also have unit spelling test this Friday. If you need any spelling words from previous weeks, please let me know.  

 

Text Box: Vocabulary Words for Science/ Social Studies: Community- a place where people live City- a large community where people live, work, and play Neighborhood- a small part of a community Post Office- a place where mail is sorted Leader- a person who helps a group plan what to do Services- things people do to help others Goods- things that people make or grow Direction- helps you find places on a map Table- a list of things in groups Natural Resource- something from Earth that people use Mineral- a nonliving thing found in nature Boulders- very large rocks Soil- the loose top layer of Earth Humus- bits of rotting plants and animals in soil Air Pollution- this happens when harmful things get into air Water Pollution- this happens when harmful things get into water Reuse- to use something again Recycle- when a factory takes it and makes a new object from it Reduce- when you use less of something
