Attendance

It is recommended that you miss the least amount of school as possible. Each day we learn new things that are important to your education. If you do happen to become ill please stay home from school. It is better to take care of yourself immediately so you can get better. If you do need to miss a day of school, please do each of the following steps:

1)      Call the office and let Mrs. Moore or Mrs. Weeden know you will be out of school.

2)      Email me at (Rhochberg@stjohnsoxnard.com) or call and leave me a voicemail at 805-983-0330 ext. 27 to let me know that you will not be in school so that I can start to prepare your work for you. (Please do not call at 8:00 AM and ask for your work by 10:00 AM. I will do my best to have your work available for you at the end of school.)

3)      Check the homework website at the end of the day (Daily Homework page ) to get the homework for the day, or have someone pick it up for you. If you do have someone get your work please let me know ahead of time.

4)      When you return to school you need to check with other students in your class for any assignments and handouts that you might have missed. School policy states that you will have the same amount of days to make up the work that you were out, for Excused Absences only.  For example, if you have the flu and miss 3 days of school, you will have 3 days of school to make up the work that you missed. Vacations / week long trips, going to Angels games (even if you are going to root for the Angels), and missing school because you don’t feel like coming are not excused absences. If you are going to miss school for these reasons you must make arrangements ahead of time. It is not the responsibility of your parents to make these arrangements, it is yours!

5)      Reports and special projects can only be turned in on the day they are due.  No exceptions.  If you are sick on the day a report or special project is due, make arrangements for someone to bring it in to school by 8:30am.
